Hongming Xu, Ph.D.

Principal Investigator
Hongming Xu is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, July 2017, M.S. and Bachelor's degree from College of Inormation Engineering at Northwest A&F University in Yangling, China, July 2012 and 2009, respectively. His research focuses on artificial intelligence in biomedical imaging fields (particularly Pathology AI), medical image computing, imaging informatics, and machine learning.




Xinyu Hao, Ph.D. Candidate

Research Assistant
Xinyu Hao is a PhD candate and a research assistant in the Faculty of Information Technology at University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, who is under the support of Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC). His research focuses on machine learning and deep learning. His research projects involve the development and application of mathematical, computational, and statistical techniques to theoretical and methodological problems within the areas of computational pathology, quantitative methodology, and biomedical image analysis. His current projects mainly involve breast cancer radiology and pathology images computing. he is also working with Prof. Fengyu Cong at Dalian University of Technology.




Shan Jin, Ph.D. Candidate

Research Assistant
Shan Jin is a PhD candidate and a research assistant in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. She works on computational radiology and pathology projects that have included applications of machine learning and computer vision algorithms for clinical diagnosis and outcome predictions. Her projects mainly involve cervical cancer radiology and pathology images computing. She is also working with Prof. Fengyu Cong at Dalian University of Technology.




Qiao Chen, Ph.D. Candidate

Research Assistant
Qiao Chen will be a PhD candate in the Faculty of Information Technology at University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, who is under the support of Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC). Her research focuses on machine learning and deep learning. Her research projects involve the development and application of mathematical, computational, and statistical techniques to theoretical and methodological problems within the areas of computational pathology, and quantitative methodology. Her current projects mainly involve brain glioma pathology image computing.




Ranran Wang, Master Student

Research Assistant
Ranran Wang is a master student and a research assistant in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. She works on computational pathology projects that have included applications of machine learning and computer vision algorithms for clinical diagnosis and outcome predictions.


Junxiu Gao, Master Student

Research Assistant
Junxiu Gao is a master student and a research assistant in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. She works on computational pathology projects that aim at predicting cancer patients' survival outcomes by using deep learning algorithms. She is also working with Prof. Changkai Sun at Dalian University of Technology.






Mingkang Wang, Master Student

Mingkang Wang is a master student and a research assistant in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. He works on computational pathology projects that have included applications of machine learning and computer vision algorithms for clinical diagnosis and outcome predictions.






Tong Wang, Master Student

Research Assistant
Tong Wang is a master student and a research assistant in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. He works on computational pathology projects about colon cancer metastasis prediction in lymph node slides. This project is conducted by collaboring with surgeon and pathologists at Yonsei University in South Korea.
